Gun control advocates love to throw out emotional appeals and misleading statistics, hoping you’ll just nod along and accept their agenda. But here’s the truth—they’re not being honest with you. If you’re tired of hearing the same tired anti-gun talking points, buckle up, because we’re about to dismantle them one by one.
Lie #1: “More Guns Mean More Crime”
Wrong. The data says otherwise. The states with the highest gun ownership rates often have lower violent crime rates. Ever heard of Vermont? One of the safest states in America, with some of the most lenient gun laws. Meanwhile, cities with the strictest gun control—like Chicago and Baltimore—are riddled with crime. If gun control worked, these cities would be utopias.
Lie #2: “You Don’t Need an AR-15”
Who decides what you “need”? The same people who use armed security while telling you to give up your right to self-defense? The AR-15 is America’s most popular rifle for a reason—it’s reliable, effective, and perfect for home defense. If criminals and tyrants don’t have to justify why they “need” their firepower, why should law-abiding citizens?
Lie #3: “Gun Control is About Saving Lives”
If that were true, why do gun control advocates ignore the millions of times guns are used defensively each year? Studies estimate that law-abiding citizens use firearms for self-defense between 500,000 to 3 million times annually. That’s a whole lot of innocent people who didn’t become victims because they were armed.
Lie #4: “Universal Background Checks Would Stop Criminals”
Here’s a newsflash: Criminals don’t follow the law. Shocking, right? Universal background checks sound great on paper, but they wouldn’t stop criminals who get their weapons through theft, straw purchases, or the black market. All they do is create more hurdles for responsible gun owners. Not only that, but background checks are required when purchasing a firearm from a dealer.
Lie #5: “Nobody Wants to Take Your Guns”
Oh really? Then why do we keep hearing politicians call for bans, confiscations, and buybacks? Why did Beto O’Rourke proudly say, “Hell yes, we’re going to take your AR-15!”? The truth is, the ultimate goal of many gun control advocates isn’t “common sense reform”—it’s disarming the American people entirely.
So, What’s the Real Agenda?
Gun control has never been about safety. It’s about control. The founding fathers knew this, which is why they gave us the Second Amendment—to ensure that the government could never have unchecked power over the people. The more restrictions they place on gun owners, the more power they take away from law-abiding citizens.
